Regional Sales Manager Marine (Rotterdam, The Netherlands)

For our New Sales department located in Rotterdam the Netherlands, from where the sales activities are coordinated, we are currently looking for an experienced Regional Sales Manager Marine.

What does this mean? 

In your role as Regional Sales Manager Marine you represent MAN-ES in the BeNeLux and be the central customer contact. You actively and strategically develop the region. You actively promote and explain MAN-ES Four-Stroke & Two-Stroke solutions for marine applications and generate leads. You clarify technical and commercial questions based on the documentation available. Last but not least you negotiate and conclude contracts aligned with the HQ.

Your Tasks: 

  • Sales, marketing and promotion of MAN ES products, such as marine engines, propellers, GenSets and hybrid systems for a broad variety of marine applications within MAN-ES Benelux territory.
  • Sales and aftersales tasks including provision of technical solutions, wherever necessary, in coordination with the related MAN ES Headquarters in Europe and reporting activities in accordance with the company rules and regulations.
  • Know the customers’ decision processes (Buying center / Decision Making Unit (DMU)).
  • Know the competitors in each application and in each project (e.g. competing engine type & configuration) and their local representatives.
  • Maintain contacts to relevant suppliers and authorities.
  • Establishing coordination between the relevant sales departments of the MAN ES Headquarters and the customer.
  • Frequent travel both domestic as well as international.
  • Expanding the customer portfolio within the market.
  • Maintaining customer relationships at all levels.
  • Develop an excellent market and customer knowledge of the business opportunities in the area of responsibility. Market intelligence.
  • Technical knowhow & support in newbuilding projects.

Who you are:  

  • Bachelor/Master degree in business, mechanical engineering or equivalent technical background. 
  • Minimal 5 years of experience in sales or customer project management with complex industrial goods.
  • Detailed understanding of the marine products and equipment business both technical and commercial levels.
  • Experience in marketing, sales, application engineering, project engineering, and/or project management associated with complex engineer-to-order equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and influence key decision makers at all levels of the business.
  • The candidate must be able to interact and work effectively with different cultures and nationalities.
  • Fluent in spoken and written Dutch, English, additional foreign languages are advantageous;
  • Readiness to travel as required by business needs (partially >80% of the time and sometimes on very short notice).
